Introduction

I started my journey of writing twelve years ago when my son was two almost three years old. I knew a couple of things; I loved writing and spending time with my son. I didn’t want him raised by someone else. So I quit my full-time job and struck out on my own, attempting first to supplement my income with childcare while I waited for my big break. The big break didn’t come; five more babies did. Instead of focusing on a writing career, I focused on raising six children and playing around with my writing because I still loved writing—almost as much as I loved being with my kids. The nice thing about writing is it can be done at any time, in the middle of the night, in the labor and delivery room while I wait for the baby to make a grand appearance. On the beach, while my kids play in the water. Writing can take place anywhere. I feel inspired just about everywhere I go.

I am first a mom, second a fiction writer, and third a freelancer. Most of my writing time these last few years has been spent focusing on writing for my pleasure and not necessarily selling the writing to someone else.
